Job Description: Business Administrator

Plymouth Park Baptist Church – Irving, Texas

Overview

Plymouth Park Baptist Church (PPBC) is seeking a full-time Business Administrator to help steward the resources, operations, and ministries of our growing and dynamic church. The ideal candidate will be a spiritually mature believer with significant experience serving in large and complex ministry environments. This person will ensure that our financial, operational, and administrative systems function with excellence so that PPBC can fulfill its mission to glorify God by making disciples.

Primary Responsibilities

Financial Management & Stewardship

  • Oversee the church’s financial operations including accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, audits, and financial reporting.

  • Manage contributions, designated funds, investments, and long-term financial planning in partnership with the Stewardship Committee.

  • Maintain best practices in financial controls, compliance, and transparency.

  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to the Senior Pastor, church staff, committees, and congregation.

Facilities & Operations Management

  • Oversee operations, maintenance, vendors, contracts, and property improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, insurance, and risk-management requirements.

  • Manage facility usage requests, scheduling, and logistics for ministries and events.

  • Work closely with custodial, maintenance, and tech/IT teams to support church programs.

Administrative Leadership

  • Provide administrative oversight for church office and staff support systems.

  • Offer structure and support to the Senior Pastor and ministry staff as needed, drawing on experience as an administrative assistant or executive support roles.

  • Develop and refine operational policies, procedures, and workflow systems that strengthen ministry efficiency.

Missions, Evangelism & Ministry Support

  • Support PPBC’s missions strategy through budgeting, logistics, and administration.

  • Work collaboratively with leaders to ensure faithful stewardship of mission funds.

  • Embrace and champion PPBC’s evangelistic heartbeat and culture of disciple-making as an active participant in the life of the church.

Qualifications

Required

  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to the mission and values of Plymouth Park Baptist Church.

  • A strong affirmation the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.

  • A personal passion for evangelism and church growth.

  • Significant experience (5+ years preferred) in business administration, finance, or operations—preferably within a large church or ministry organization.

  • Demonstrated competence in accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial management software.

  • Proven ability to oversee operations, maintenance, and vendor relationships.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and high ethical standards.

  • Appropriate degree in finance, business, or other pertinent fields.

Preferred

  • Experience serving in administrative support roles, such as an administrative assistant or executive assistant.

  • Missions administration or coordination experience.

  • Familiarity with church management systems, QuickBooks, budgeting tools, and other pertinent facility management platforms.

  • Specialized degree or continued education/certificate work in non-profits, business, or other pertinent fields.

Working Relationships
  • Reports directly to the Senior Pastor.

  • Works closely with the Ministerial Staff, Support Staff, Stewardship Committee, Personnel Committee, and Facilities Teams.

  • Supervises administrative and operational personnel as assigned.
