Passage: Ephesians 1:3

Prayer for All Members Based on Pastor Micah’s Message, February 13, 2022 Ephesians 1:3
Blessing Upon Blessing

Introduction: What are the blessings God has for us? Why do we bless His name?

  1. We are blessed by the Father: Fathers give good gifts because they love their children.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us...

From before the beginning of time God the Father made a plan that He would send His Son for our redemption from our sin. We have a Father who loves us and cares for us deeply.

“Father, thank You for revealing in the Bible who You are and what You have done for us and are doing for us! Please help us to know You and Your love more and more.”

  2. We are blessed in the Son: Our ultimate blessing is Jesus Christ Himself.

...who has blessed us in Christ...

God’s standard has always been perfection, and no mere man could achieve perfection. But Jesus, the God-Man, achieved perfection, and died for us. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus Christ has accomplished the salvation of the saints. To be in Christ is to partake of all that Christ has done, all that He is, and all that He will ever be.

“Father, thank You for the costly gift of forgiveness through Your beloved Son. Thank You that you have rescued us from the death we deserved and have given us eternal life in Christ!”

  3. We are blessed through the Spirit: We have been made new creations with a new heavenly reality.

...with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.

Together with eternal life in Christ, God has given us eternal blessings, including holiness, adoption, forgiveness, the Holy Spirit, and the hope of glory. And He has crowned us with the fruit of the Spirit to proclaim to a watching world who God is.

“Father, thank You for the eternal life and fruitfulness You have given us through Your Spirit within us. Please empower us to experience and display all Your blessings to the full.”

Conclusion: We bless the One who has blessed us!

Blessed be the God and Father...

Good theology always leads to doxology. When we know who God is and who we are, we can truly understand the greatness of our redemption and of what God has done for us. We will sing! We will praise! We praise and worship not just on Sunday morning, but in the way our live our lives, rejoicing every day in the God who created us and blessed us with every spiritual blessing.

“Father, thank You that when we bless You we know Your joy, and are blessed all the more!”
